IMM and In My Mailbox Time!

I’m a little late announcing these as In My Mailbox, but they were a couple weeks back so I’m telling you all about them now LOL.

First, I received a copy of Talismans by Sybil Baker. I will be hosting her blog hop one Wednesday this month, which is sponsored by Wow! Women on Writing. So, she sent me a copy of her book and I plan to give it to one commenter that day!

“Elise understands her father—a Vietnam vet who abandoned her when she was an infant—about as much as she does her church organist mother and the rest of their suburban Virginian town. When even that thin thread of connection is suddenly severed, Elise is flung across the world, to Southeast Asia. Tracing the steps her father took through the war, Elise searches for a connection —with his ghost, with other travelers, with the foreign culture and environment she experiences. In a series of linked short stories, Talismans follows Elise’s journey to learn what she must hold onto, and what she must leave behind.”

I also won a copy of Geek Girl by Cindy Bennett from Kathy at I Am a Reader Not A Writer.I LOVE winning books, which I rarely ever do, so they are extra special to me when I get them LOL

“Think I can turn that boy bad?” 17-year-old Jen turns her life upside down when, out of boredom, she makes a bet that she can turn school geek Trevor into someone like her. Instead, the goth girl finds herself sucked into his world of sci-fi movies, charity work, and even-ugh!-bowling. To truly belong with him-and with her new foster family-she must first come to terms with her violent past.”

In My Mailbox is a meme from the Story Siren designed to help book lovers unite, meet, greet and follow one another in our quests to find the next most awe inspiring, tear jerking, mesmerizing or just entertaining new tome.

Mailbox Monday is a meme hosted this month at Knitting & Sundries. This is one more incredible way to get to know one another, build your following and find great new sites to add to your dashboard.

What was in your mailbox this week?
